Integrated HIV Prevention & Care Plan

Florida has now surpassed New York and California in new HIV infections. Yes, we are # 1 and we’re sure that you would agree with us that this is not a position of which to be proud. We need your expertise in developing an Integrated HIV Prevention and Care Plan for the period 2017-2021 that will enable us to turn these tides.

We need your input in developing a Plan that will guide the provision of HIV care and prevention services in the Central Florida area for the next five years that will achieve the goals outlined in the National HIV/AIDS Strategy updated to 2020:

  • Reducing new HIV Infections
  • Increasing Access to Care and Improving Health Outcomes for People Living with HIV
  • Reducing HIV-Related Disparities and Health Equities
  • Achieving a more Coordinated Response to the HIV Epidemic

Please download and review the draft plan below.

The overall all living document is written with precise steps to accomplish the specific goal in question. “Great job!” My slight concern would be the color coded areas relating to the range of cases specific to zip codes. Just looking at the map, one can see the heavier concentration of the disease by color. If a town / city was named, maybe then the numbered zip code should be omitted. Other wise, maybe adding the numbered zip code would create a better user friendly zip code source.
